Job Title: Sales Manager

A leading provider of advanced manufacturing solutions, specializing in Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) and Direct Energy Deposition (DED) machinery, as well as additive manufacturing (AM)-produced parts for select customers. Headquartered in France, with a North American subsidiary featuring significant metal 3D printing capabilities in Cincinnati. The facility includes five PBF machines and two DED machines.
To support growth objectives, the company is seeking Sales Managers for various market segments. This Sales Manager position will be responsible for the Medical market. The role is remote but requires up to 20% travel to Cincinnati for training, teambuilding, and commercial strategy planning.
Responsibilities include traveling to customer sites, understanding technical challenges, providing solutions, prospecting, consulting with new customers within the assigned industry, and collaborating with marketing to enhance and promote products and services. The candidate will be expected to become well-versed in additive manufacturing adoption, including part identification, business case development, and application analysis. Ideal candidates will have product development experience within the assigned industry to effectively understand challenges and offer solutions.

Travel to customer locations, assess technical challenges, and provide applicable solutions.

Develop expertise in product features, uses, benefits, and pricing structure.

Negotiate customer contracts, including pricing and terms for parts and machinery.

Promote products and services through trade shows and proactive customer prospecting.

Collaborate with project teams to deliver samples and/or quotations to customers, providing technical expertise to convert quotes into sales.

Consult with customers to offer technical recommendations based on application requirements.

Conduct market analysis and present findings to sales and product leaders to enhance offerings, value propositions, and go-to-market strategies.

Partner with marketing to refine strategies based on industry trends and competitive analysis.

Work closely with sales leadership to meet and exceed sales targets within the assigned industry.

Build and nurture new accounts while also prospecting and developing relationships with potential clients.

For target accounts, assess and improve competitive positioning by analyzing:

Existing suppliers of competitive equipment.

The company’s ability to address applications adding value to the prospect’s operations.

Interpersonal relationships between company staff and key personnel in the prospect’s organization.

Manage the sales pipeline for leads and opportunities, providing regular reporting.

Utilize CRM software (Salesforce) to effectively manage and organize leads, opportunities, and customer communications.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field.

1-3 years of commercial sales experience within the assigned market.

1-3 years of technical experience in the assigned market.

Experience in additive manufacturing preferred.

Ability to assess customer locations and identify technical challenges and inefficiencies.

Strong solution-based selling skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Comfortable presenting to senior-level executives.

Willingness to travel 50% or more.

MBA preferred.
