A company that specializes in advanced materials is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer with experience in both process and equipment development environments.
This person will need a good understanding of process/hardware interactions and the impact that equipment configuration has on process outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Using your technical expertise you will support the installation and maintenance of company equipment.
- Manage the implementation of upgrades to existing systems.
- Analyze equipment malfunctions and failures and develop corrective action.
- Design and source fixtures and adaptations for system repairs and maintenance.
- Act as a point of contact for the offsite engineering team, management, and outside contractors.
- Read, create, and edit equipment P&IDs or schematics.
- Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance procedures to reduce equipment downtime and failures.
- Monitor equipment performance and suggest improvements.
- Gather data from process equipment or operator team to develop equipment specifications for upgrades including scope of work, forecasted budget, and financial justification.
- Work with the engineering team to design and develop new equipment.
- Document equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures for reference purposes.
- Support operations team in maintaining equipment uptime and improving yield.
- Test and approve new equipment before acceptance and installation on larger systems.
- Improve onsite documentation, inventory, and communication practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or other related engineering fields.
- Excellent with Mechanical Engineering First Principles.
- Five (5+) years of experience with design engineering, project execution, and/or field service.· Understanding of equipment monitoring instrumentation and techniques.
- Previous experience in an industrial process industry involving the movement of solid, liquid, or gaseous material.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A proven track record of tackling complex, multi-disciplinary problems including those without prior knowledge
- Fluency with SolidWorks, scripting (MATLAB or similar), and data acquisition systems (preferred).
- Experience with PLC programming (Allen Bradley) is a plus.
- Background in powder handling equipment – specifically feeding and collection of fine (1-100micron) powder highly desired but not required
- PMP Certification
