An experienced Inside Sales Manager in the industrial product manufacturing sector is sought by one of our clients located in Plymouth, MA. This client is a leading manufacturer of valves and flow control products. The successful candidate for this pivotal role will be instrumental in enhancing the overall customer experience, managing aspects ranging from product pricing to distributor relations, and fostering the ongoing growth of Inside Sales and Customer Support teams.
The ideal candidate, equipped with prior inside sales management experience in industrial product organizations and a technical background, will swiftly grasp the intricacies of the business and technical aspects of product lines. The role requires leveraging a history of building and maintaining mutually beneficial professional relationships, particularly when addressing escalated issues or exceptions. On behalf of our client, we seek a strategic thinker capable of effective communication with field reps and executives alike.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate, on-time fulfillment of orders from the outside sales team, customers, and the distributor network, maintaining appropriate profitability.
- Employ a project management approach in both pre-sales and post-sales environments.
- Act as a subject matter expert, fostering effective collaboration between sales, project quotations, business development, and engineering with internal and external stakeholders.
- Review customer specifications, application details, control schematics, and quotations to ensure automation and controls products meet industry and customer requirements.
- Ensure all automated packages meet customer specifications while maintaining competitive pricing and delivery.
- Conduct technical training on existing and new A&C products for internal stakeholders.
- Provide support to the factory on the assembly of automation and control packages.
- Execute a cradle-to-grave approach for key projects.
- Meet project deadlines and maintain consistency with existing project schedules.
- Improve accuracy and efficiency through training, policy creation, process improvement, direct oversight, and approval processes.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in industrial equipment distribution, preferably within a technical valve/actuation environment.
- A minimum of 2 years of direct report management experience, demonstrating proven leadership abilities.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend/stoop, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- A proven track record of product pricing and cost analysis to optimize revenue flow and profitability, crucial for developing annual price lists, contract negotiation, and project-based price quotes.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-driven, proactive, and capable of multitasking.
