Job Title: Hydraulic System Engineer
Location: Houston, Texas (Onsite, 5 days a week)
Salary: 130k
A leading provider of industrial flow control solutions is seeking a Hydraulic System Engineer. The role involves designing hydraulic control systems for actuators, resolving manufacturing and supply chain challenges, and providing technical support to the sales department. The engineer will collaborate with project managers and other teams to ensure hydraulic systems are designed, integrated, manufactured, installed, and maintained efficiently. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of hydraulic components, such as solenoids, control valves, and accumulators, and experience interfacing these systems with PLCs and controllers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Hydraulic System Design: Create hydraulic actuator control systems using CAD software.
- Collaboration: Partner with project managers and engineering teams to integrate hydraulic systems, including valves and other components.
- System Simulation & Analysis: Conduct simulations, analyze performance data, and ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
- Testing & Validation: Perform tests to verify hydraulic systems meet regulatory and performance requirements.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and oversee schedules for servicing and maintaining hydraulic systems in the field.
- Technical Support: Provide engineering support to sales and customer service teams by addressing technical inquiries related to hydraulic systems.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including actuator design and integration.
- Technical Expertise:
- Comprehensive knowledge of fluid dynamics, mechanical systems, and hydraulics.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Familiarity with hydraulic components such as solenoids, control valves, accumulators, and their integration with PLCs and controllers.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to address complex engineering challenges.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams.
- Attention to Detail: Proven ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
Working Conditions
This position is primarily office- or lab-based but may require occasional site visits to installation locations and vendor facilities. Some travel may be necessary for project or vendor-related tasks.
