A global leader in industrial valves, actuators, and control products is seeking a talented Electrical Development Engineer to join their elite engineering team in Houston, Texas. The Electrical Development Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting electronic and electro-mechanical products. Utilizing electrical engineering skills, the role involves creating and testing models, supporting manufacturing processes, and collaborating with global teams to execute projects successfully. This position offers the chance to contribute to challenging and innovative projects, working alongside diverse teams across multiple time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and support electronic and electro-mechanical products using electrical engineering principles.
- Create and test electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical models to ensure reliability and functionality.
- Collaborate with global design teams to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Provide manufacturing support to ensure successful product production.
- Balance urgent production needs with long-term design projects effectively.
- Research and develop new technologies to improve product performance and functionality.
- Work across time zones and languages, coordinating with diverse teams in different locations.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of professional experience in electronics product design, sensor design and integration, and manufacturing, ideally with controls product design experience.
- Proficiency in PCB design tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or Eagle.
- Experience with Freescale, Microcontrollers, Keil, and Code Warrior.
- Knowledge of programming languages, including C, C++, .NET, and assembly coding.
- Familiarity with digital architecture, microcontrollers, circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
- Experience with PCB Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) certifications, validation, and testing.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage projects independently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical.
