Job Title: Buyer II

This role is responsible for performing tactical and strategic buying activities to support on-time delivery and overall part readiness for manufacturing, engine assembly, and MRO operations. The position supports cost management, sourcing, and supplier management functions within the Purchasing Department. Responsibilities include initiating and evaluating RFQs/RFPs, placing purchase orders based on cost, quality, and delivery requirements, and coordinating meetings with suppliers and customers to ensure project goals are met. Ensuring on-time delivery and the achievement of project goals is a key aspect of this role.
Key Accountabilities
- Supplier Communication and Follow-Up

Ensure on-time delivery for manufacturing, engine assembly, maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO), and facility needs.

Problem-solving and decision-making to support hardware disposition and expediting.

- Supplier RFQ and Negotiation

Request quotations and negotiate to award business based on quality, cost, and delivery terms.

- Process Improvement Collaboration

Work with Engineering and Suppliers to achieve process improvement goals supporting on-time delivery.

Collaborate with internal and external customers to support process changes and other project-related items.

Provide guidance to team members to ensure processes are understood and followed.

Qualifications
- Minimum Educational Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, manufacturing engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience in procurement or supply chain-related field.

- Minimum Experience
-
Minimum of 3 years of procurement or logistics-related experience.

Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to manage supplier relationships and work in teams to build consensus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Technical understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings, preferably in aerospace.

Review, analyze, and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders to ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and governance requirements.

Manage supplier contracts, including problem resolution, contract review, and negotiation of terms, conditions, and pricing.

Oversee large projects in accordance with corporate guidelines with input from Purchasing Management as needed.
